A bill amendment was just introduced in the Ohio House Medicaid Committee that would prohibit families from being paid with Waiver funds.!!!
Call every member of this committee now and let them know how devastating this would be to our loved ones.

To whom it may concern.
I am writing this letter on behalf of my aunt and disabled cousin. During Covid, my aunt, who is a single mom and sole provider for my cousin, was forced to quit her job as a physical therapist assistant in order to stay home with her daughter who has cerebral palsy among other ailments. There were no other in-home care providers available and she requires 24 hour care. My aunt gave up so much in order to be able to do this, and ensure that her daughter got the best care possible. The system they have in place has been working well and my aunt has been able to continue to provide the best care for her daughter while making a little bit of money to support themselves. This is the best situation for this family, and if they were unable to continue, my cousin would be put into a nursing home and my aunt would likely become very depressed.
It really would be a worst case scenario for both of them. That is why I’m writing to you.
Please consider removing the ban on family in home care providers.

I hear you wasn’t really any providers during covid still really isn’t thank your aunt for work she is doing.
